Barcelona is one of the deepest salsa cities in Europe — long-running rooms, instructors who teach internationally, and a Mediterranean climate that allows outdoor socials a real share of the calendar. The Antilla heritage runs through the city's DNA; bachata sensual and salsa-on-2 layered on top in the last fifteen years.

Eixample and Gràcia hold the studio circuit and the weeknight socials. The Antilla rooms (the broader scene that grew up around the long-running Cuban club lineage) anchor the salsa-with-live-band tradition. Poblenou and the beach district run summer outdoor socials. Catalan and Spanish layer over the music — and dancers from across Europe rotate through constantly, especially during the Barcelona Bachata or Catalonia Salsa weekends.

Barcelona's salsa cubana floors expect you to know basic casino calls; the on-2 rooms expect timing. Pick the room that matches what you've trained, and ask before assuming the local style. Lunch is at 14:00, dinner at 22:00, dance starts after midnight.
