Noche Azul – Thursday Milonga at Academia de Tango

As the successor to the region’s most traditional milonga („Wednesday Milonga“) in the Rhein-Main area, this event now takes place on Thursdays as Noche Azul. Rotating DJs provide an excellent, traditional music selection. The dance level is generally good to excellent; enthusiastic newcomers willing to adapt to the dance flow are naturally welcome as well. Attendees should know how the cabeceo and mirada work for inviting a dance. When entering the ronda – after the first approximately twenty seconds of the tanda – please make sure to establish eye contact with the leader of the couple ahead of whom you wish to join, and only then enter. Do not delay (there is more space ahead of you to move forward than one would expect from the couples present). Do not rush (do not get too close to the couple dancing ahead of you, so that their turn or backward step does not cause a collision).
