🚨 STOP practicing Jive like this These 10 beginner mistakes quietly build wrong muscle memory and slow your progress. Save this before your next practice 👇 ❌ Mistake #1: Jumping UP on step 1 Feels energetic, but it fights the music. ✅ Drop your weight DOWN on step 2 to match the Jive downbeat. ❌ Mistake #2: First step of the triple step is too big Big step = broken timing. ✅ Take a small first step → close feet → big on the last step. ❌ Mistake #3: Popping up too early on step 3 Kills swing action. ✅ Stay cushioned longer and let the hips swing naturally. ❌ Mistake #4: Huge back step that pulls your partner Destroys balance and connection. ✅ Step small, right behind the front foot. Twist hips away, then back to square. ❌ Mistake #5: Using half-half timing (East Coast Swing habit) That’s not Jive. ✅ Jive timing = ¾ beat → ¼ beat → full beat. ❌ Mistake 6: Leaning back with the upper body to create pull Breaks your frame. ✅ Stretch hips back. Antoinette’s performance brought us into the world of Cha-Cha— full of Cuban motion, sassy energy, a hint of hip-hop influence, all blended into a cocktail of character, rhythm, and fun. Dance is not only about movement. It is about meaning.

Dance is supposed to take you somewhere. Not just across the floor— but into a story, a character, a moment. This time, that journey came through Megan’s Jive— high-energy, playful, and full of personality. More than just fast footwork, it was about rhythm, attitude, and committing fully to the character. Choreographing this number was about letting movement lead the narrative. Allowing expression, musicality, and presence to shape the performance— so the dance didn’t just happen to the music, it spoke with it. When dancers give themselves permission to step into a role, the performance becomes more than technique.

“Veronica, we cannot thank you enough for doing such a great job with the choreography for our first wedding dance! She did such an excellent job at meeting us where we were at skill level. My husband had never danced before and always thought he was bad at it, but she helped him realize he really just needed to start at a beginners level. He had given her the idea of the Viennese waltz from the live action Cinderella film and she did a wonderful job tailoring it to our beginner level despite it being a style of dance that is usually harder for first timers. She also worked great with us at meeting our short deadline and working us into her schedule. We are so grateful. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to spice up your first dance at your wedding or even to just learn ballroom.”

“We worked with Veronika at Image Ballroom to help us with a coordinate our 1st dance at our wedding. We picked Tina Turner “The Best” as our song. Veronika was thrilled with our selection and she tailored the choreography to our specific dance level and talents. She also checked in with us along the way to make sure we could handle everything as the steps progressed. She was able to help us where we were struggling and adjusted as we went. The dance ended up going perfectly on our wedding day! We got a standing ovation and all our guests were surprised! We loved working with Veronika and would definitely take another class!! Thank you for making our day fun and magical with a dance choreographed just for us!! 🤍”
