Mexico City cumbia classes & calendar

Cumbia is the Colombian-born rhythm that became the most-danced social music across Latin America — Mexico turned it into its own institution, with cumbia sonidera filling plazas and clubs every weekend. The partner form is forgiving: a relaxed lateral step, a turning circle, none of the timing anxiety that scares people off salsa. It shows up at almost every Latin night, usually as the song where the floor doubles in size.

This is the easiest entry on the whole list. The basic is a side-to-side weight shift over a steady beat — learn it in one song, then add the slow turning travel. No counts to memorize, no break to find. A good first dance to build floor confidence before you tackle salsa or bachata.
